Road, Mountain, SS, Fixed gear, Cyclocross, and commuter. If it involves a bike I love it. I've been racing casually since 2001, but competing the last several seasons in the ambcs have been some of the best riding experiences I've ever had. Come out and race with us. It's a great excuse to travel the state and ride some of the best trails Arkansas has to offer.

I am 54 years old, racing this year in the SS division for the series races, not because I think I'm fast enough, but just because it's fun to line up with the younger guys. I've been riding hard since 1984 and racing some along the way. The last 2 seasons racing with the ACF Team have been some of the most fun I've had racing.

Part time rocker turned bike enthusiast. Maybe I just like toys!
Born, raised, and lucky to be living in the greatest town in the US. There's no better way to start a day than to see the sunrise from a river trail ride.
Got a couple centuries and a whopping one mtn bike race under my belt and a hobby that borders on obsession. Every time I ride I find another reason I love this sport. I can't wait to see what the next race holds!

I am a PhD student at UAMS. Basically, I'm a science super nerd. I got a bike when I moved to Little Rock in August of '09 so that I would have a hobby to keep me in shape. I quickly came to love mt. biking. I dove in head first, and with the help of the folks at Arkansas Cycling, I learned fast. I'm a CAT3 racer.

I began mountain biking in 1993. My first race was in Hot Springs at eh old Atilla the Hun in the beginner class. I've been racing every year since except 2002-03 when I was recovering from cancer(cancer free today!!!). 2009 was my best year in the CAT 1 50 plus when I won the overall.
I use my road bike for most of my training. I will be attempting Nationals this July, 2010 in Granby. CO.
I hope to do a good job representing Arkansas Cycling and Fitness!!!!
See ya on the road or trails!!!

Bicycles have always been a part of my life and racing is something that seems to go hand in hand with it since I was a kid. My buddies and I each had our own little BMX track in our yards so we always raced one another growing up and eventually my mother would take me to the "official" BMX track that was in Sherwood in the 80's. Eventually I discovered this thing called a mountain bike and actually took my first mountain bike ride at Burns Park in 1987 and have pretty much had the fever ever since. Today besides racing I enjoy riding with people and helping them improve their skills on the trail. I feel that I can pretty much make any one improve if I can ride with them for just one hour.

I bought my first mountain bike in October 2009 and fell in love. It is a challenge, but I am always reminded by favorite riding partner that "it never gets easier, you only get faster."

I started working for Arkansas Cycling in June of '09 and my love for cycling has grown exponentially every since. I participated in a couple of races that season and came to realize my competitive passion for racing bikes. My goals are to do the best I can in all of the races this season and hopefully win one of those cool jerseys as soon as possible (even if it takes a couple of seasons). I hope to see all of you guys out on the trail and at the AMBCS races this season!

I entered the cycling community about 2 years ago riding a mountain bike that was borrowed from a friend. Several miles and dollars later, my new found hobby had become an addiction (or mental illness as my wife likes to call it). I try to split my time between road and mountain biking for training purposes, even though the trails harbor all the excitement and technical terrain my adrenalin-fueled mind and body crave. I just recently reached a milestone in life that most dread--turning 30. I, on the other hand, am excited to see what this decade in life will hold, as I have been told a cyclists performance will peak during this time.

I’m the Team Leader of the Arkansas Cycle and Fitness Ultra Cycling Team. I’m also its only member so if your interested in ultra cycling let me know.
I also race Cat 1 Mountain bikes, do Ironmans, Xterras and Adventure Races. Other interesting factoids: I’m married to Trish; Have 3 Kids, 2 Dogs, and 5 Bikes.
I’m 47 and the owner Applied Computer Solutions, Inc which allows me the time to do all of the things that I do.
My philosophy is "Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, Beer in one hand - Bike in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming YEE HA - What a Ride!"

This is my third season racing and am looking forward to a year full of punishing and fun courses. I thrive in the rocky technical aspects of the sport and enjoy riding my race bike like I'm on a bmx track. I'm stoked to be racing for AC&F for the third year and can't wait to see the blue checkers on top of the podium.

I am a mountain biker. However, I do enjoy other forms of cycling and I believe that the world is a better place because the benefits of cycling. Riding bikes offers: improved health, an enhanced sense of community, infrastructure relief, efficient transport, personal improvement, stronger relationships, friendly competition, and simple pleasure. Riding is an affirmation of life; riding is living and that is why I ride almost every day. While I do challenge myself and seek to improve my cycling skills, I never consider it training I just ride. I have vowed that I will quit when riding is no longer fun. Each day I take whatever ride is “handed” to me. I would rather pass up on a ride I intended to do on my own to ride with whoever is at the trailhead. I also find it very important to promote cycling and I work to improve the trails and resources for riders on regular basis. The best part of everything is that my wife is a mountain biker and shares my passion.

Well I'm 35yrs old and "easily" the fastest guy on the team. None of the others are aware of this because "I intentionally hold back" during races so as not to show up the rest of the team! J/K!!!! Actually I only started racing mtb's a couple of years ago but it has been a blast. When I decided that I wanted to join a team it was a no brainer. AC&F!!!!! If you love cycling and want to surround yourself with others who share your passion then there is no better place to be. See you at the races!!!!

I am the unofficial team physician for the ACF race team and a kinda slow cat 3 racer, but I still enjoy it.
I specialize in non-operative care of the spine and electrodiagnostic and sports medicine in a large orthopedic group in Little Rock….
Arkansas Specialty Orthopedics. I am one who does try and practice what I preach regarding the importance of regular exercise for health and wellness. I find that doing the AMBCS events are a great motivator for me to be as fit as my time and schedule allow, and it is a real joy to ride on some of the awesome Arkansas trails with other like minded mountain bike enthusiast.
