What is this?
The Arkansas River Trail in central Arkansas is visited by hundreds of cyclist every day. The main river trail is pretty much flat. There are 3 good climbs to test your strength.
Fort Roots climb across from the North Little Rock skate park is the least challenging but a good climb, River Mountain road climb at the west most end of the Little Rock side is the longest and the Over look climb near the Big Dam Bridge Little Rock side is the steepest climb.
Of course the must see feature of the River Trail system is the Big Dam Bridge. The world’s longest bicycle and pedestrian bridge. Little Rock is so lucky to have this centerpiece and monument to fitness. Be sure to keep your speed reasonable and watch for folks not moving as fast as you on foot. It is also helpful to Say “passing on your left” to folks you are about to pass in heavy traffic areas.
